My career started at a young age with school lessons and some private 1 on 1 with some fine players and teachers. My early stages included big band arrangements playing with older local bands and fronting a 10 piece swing band while in high school. I started adding some 50s rock tunes in the sets via our guitarist, drummer, bassist, keyboardist and me on sax. We played the area school dances and proms and were the core players in school musicals such as Kismet, Where's Charley, Brigadoon and a college production of Guys & Dolls. Weekends were spent in clubs, frat parties, corporate events, weddings and resorts in the 60s and a stage band that backed up Gladys Knight & The Pips in 1969 at a college concert. The 70/80s were pretty much the same but doing more opening acts including James Gang, Loretta Lynn, Hot Rod Magazine Concert and many County Fairs, including a feature act at NYS Fair in the Pepsi Pavilion. Along the way there have been numerous long-term house band stints and some studio work. I consider myself a variety player but still enjoy the 50-60s period when sax was so much a part of the music. The late 90s has taken me to the Florida Spacecoast live scene where I have had unique opportunities to work with a variety of genres from straight ahead bop to blues, standards and oldies, variety and country. Venues include large outdoor events in Cocoa Village, KSC, Octoberfests, Riverboat Dixieland, also Patrick AFB, Sunset Cafe, Conchy Joe's, Moose, VFW and Elks Clubs, SunTree, Orchid Island Private Clubs, West Palm, Orlando, Daytona Clubs, Weddings, Parties.........and ready for more.
